Grazing Simulation Model
Case Examples

The examples that follow apply the Grazing Simulation Model to actual case examples of BLM Grazing systems. The grazing systems analyzed come from questionnaires that were submitted in 1989 as part of an evaluation of a random 10% of the largest allotments administered by BLM in Oregon and Washington. All of the simulations that follow assume a 50% utilization level as the planned utilization level was not part of the data collected. Being based on information that is over 10 years old, these examples may not be representative of the management that is presently in place.
