Personal Statement
I grew up in Utah; loved the outdoors, but was incredible ignorant
about grazing issues.
One thing I recall from attending LDS church a boy was the continual
praying from Northern Utah saints that the farmers and ranchers in
southern Utah would get some rain. Oh that we should have prayed for
wisdom -- that slickrock desert was not the place for agriculture!
I became an environmentalist on the first Earth Day, and have
participated in and helped found a number of organizations ever since. I
am currently the president of the Wolf Recovery Foundation.
