Personal Statement
Currently I am working on a local greenbelt restoration project --
City-owned 63 acres of coastal prairie (dotted with 200 year old oaks),
formerly grazed by dairy cattle, now cow-free and with little effort the
Federally listed endangered Santa Cruz Tarplant is returning! One small step
at a time.
I have been involved as a public
lands environmental activist trying to end the despoilation of air, land
and water since the early 1970's, first in Montana ( with the Sierra Club,
then Friends of the Earth). I have a BA from UCLA (Biological Illustration)
and from UC Santa Cruz in Environmental Studies (with a focus on energy economics
& energy conservation). Mostly, I have an untiring desire to do anything
and everything to protect the biological health of earth's living systems. |
